“Oh WOW!!….” was all we could say as we got closer to the dolorite koppies in the Nieuwoudtville Wild Flower Reserve and Charlies Hoek (Hantam National Botanical Garden).
We were filled with amazement, wonder, and excitement when we saw how many Brunsvigias pushed their tender heads through the red clay soil after the rains we received over Easter Weekend.
A few of them were completely or almost open, but the rest, in their dazzling brilliance, should be open towards the weekend (14 & 15 April 2012).
Unfortunately we could not drive or walk on the dolorite towards Camel Koppie in the Hantam Garden and have to wait another day or two for the soil to dry out before we can go and see how the Brunsvigias are doing there, but we are sure it’s going to be just as amazing and wonderful!
We would like to encourage all our Brunsvigia lovers to visit Nieuwoudtville and the Hantam Garden towards the end of the week and next week to see this mass display of beautiful and stunning flowers.
