KAREEBOOM SCHOOL HOUSE
Located on Kareeboom farm and nearby the popular Kareeboom Farm Cottage and Kareeboom Farmhouse, the Old School House adds another option for you to enjoy this unique part of the Karoo.
The Old School House has been renovated and decorated in the owner’s exquisite style. The accommodation comprises an open plan kitchen, lounge and bedroom, with a beautifully appointed separate bathroom. There is a wood burner in the lounge for those cool winter mornings and evenings.
The large stoep provides beautiful views over the valley, where it is possible to braai or to simply soak up the peaceful surroundings.
There is a double bed as well as a three quarter bed. Feather duvets, cotton linen, and soft luxurious towels are provided to enrich your stay. It offers you guaranteed peacefulness and a well deserved break.
It is ideal for honeymoon couples, a romantic getaway or just a stay over when travelling long distances.
No cell phone reception is available, but free Wi-Fi can be accessed at Gannabos Farm.
PLEASE NOTE: Solar panels provide the basic electricity for appliances such as lights and chargers. As a result, electric appliances such as hairdryers, kettles and toasters cannot be accommodated.
The School House is fully stocked with all the kitchen necessities including glasses, dishes, plates, etc. Braai tools, wood and a grill are provided.
It is equipped with a gas stove and gas geyser, as well as a large fridge.
Homemade farm products, such as rusks, as well as a variety of jams and preserved products, including quinces and green figs are available for purchase.
The School House has an en-suite bathroom with a shower. All guests will be supplied with towels.
The beautiful bathroom comprises a toilet, shower, as well as a basin with breathtaking views of the mountain behind the School House.
PLEASE NOTE: There will be a limit set on the number of photographers and/or visitors entering the quiver tree forest between 18:00 and 06:00. A permit from the owner will be required at a cost of R250 per person should you be keen to experience the forest between these hours. The guests at Gannabos and Kareeboom have the privilege to come and go as they please, free of charge.
Please remember that as the quiver tree forest is situated on the farm itself, it still remains private property.
