Papkuilsfontein Campsite
The camp site was developed on the extreme right side of the property so as to be private and away from our other guests on the farm. This also means that you are comparatively private when camping at Papkuilsfontein. The campsites offers beautiful vistas over the ‘Hantamsberg’ mountains to the east, and the canyon cliffs to the west.
Four executive camp sites with own ablution and washing up area. Also a braai area each behind a beautiful sandstone wall. Solar lights. Bring along some of your own too.
Eight guests in the old camp site share a bathroom and toilet in a ‘sonkwas’ reed hut, built to be reminiscent of the reed dwellings in the area. There is one hot shower and separate flush toilet with solar lights both in bathroom and lapa area. The shared camp has a covered pergola for washing up and shade for summer, with gas geyser, and a huge circular braai lapa with low raised sandstone seating around it. There are also low sandstone braai pits built at different spots where people usually pitch their tents, if you do not want to share the lapa when there are already people using it. The lapa is quite big, so no problem, but privacy could be. Tall ‘taai’- and ‘kraaibosse’ provide shade while we wait for the trees to grow big enough.
